"We try never to forget that medicine is for the people. It is not for the profits. The profits follow, and if we have remembered that, they have never failed to appear."
- George W. Merck, 1950
The work we do at Rosetta Inpharmatics is driven by an underlying desire to improve the quality of human life. In collaboration with the scientists at our parent company, Merck & Co., Inc., we pursue cutting-edge research that will enhance drug development, strive to improve the time and cost to market, and make a definite, indelible mark in the way medicines are made.
Rosetta Inpharmatics' scientific foundation was built on gene expression research. Ever since the company was founded in 1996, we have focused our efforts on developing and improving the use of microarray technologies in drug discovery. We have also furthered the development of tools to analyze the large volumes of gene expression data generated by microarrays.
Our scientific publications serve as a testament to the quality of our science. Rosetta Inpharmatics' scientists have been published in a number of leading scientific journals, including Cell, Nature, and Science.
